In St Jame's Church, Trowbridge, is a tablet of benefactors of the poor, on which appears: 1661. Mr. Edward Davis, £40. 1687. Mrs. Margaret Davis, £10. 1662. Mr. John Davis gave £10; the profits thereof, together with the several sums above named, are to be distributed to the poor of the parish at the Nativity of our Saviour yearly for ever. |
